Daarmee is West-Vlaanderen na Limburg de tweede wijnbouwprovincie van Vlaanderen. Vooral Heuvelland speelt een sleutelrol dankzij de erkenning als officieel wijnbouwgebied.

De publicatie brengt een combinatie van cijferanalyses, ondernemersverhalen en beleidskaders. De groei van de sector vertaalt zich niet alleen in meer productie, maar ook in professionalisering: het gemiddelde wijnbouwareaal per producent ligt met 3,31 hectare boven het Vlaamse gemiddelde. Witte en mousserende witte wijnen domineren de productie.

Interviews met wijnbouwers uit o.a. Wervik, Heuvelland, Beselare en Moorslede tonen hoe ondernemers inspelen op duurzaamheid, beleving en toerisme. Er is aandacht voor terroir, natuurlijke teeltmethoden en kennisopbouw. Ook de impact van klimaatverandering komt aan bod.

Daarnaast benadrukt de publicatie de rol van partners als Inagro, Syntra West, Westtoer en het LEADER-programma. Innovaties, schaalvergroting en korteketeninitiatieven worden aangemoedigd. Het label BelBul moet de internationale herkenbaarheid van Belgische mousserende wijn versterken.
